Second Chance Checking

Features of Second Chance Checking:

• No minimum balance
• Unlimited check writing
• ATM Card
• $25 minimum deposit to open the account
• FREE Online Banking for viewing your account information
• Bill Pay (First 15 monthly transactions Free, $.50 per additional transaction)

Criteria for Second Chance Checking

• No past fraud activity
• No balance due at a NorthPark Community Credit Union charge-off
• Positive balance for initial 6 months.  Failure to do so results in immediate checking account closure
• Exception Holds (Reg C):  All checks over $500 that are deposited/cashed will automatically be placed on an extended hold*.  Government-issued checks or payroll checks are excluded from these extended holds ONLY IF they are verified by the MSR.

* 5 additional days for local checks and local next-day available items for a max of 7 business days, and 6 additional business days for non-local checks and non-local next day checks for a max of 11 business days

**Restrictions apply.    Accounts opened pending approval.  Membership eligibility qualifications apply.  NorthPark Community Credit Union may turn down an account based on past account abuse by a customer. Transactions are restricted to NPCCU branches only.  Extended holds placed on all check deposits (excluding Government-issued checks and recognizable payroll checks).  Courtesy Pay program not offered with Second Chance Checking.  Must be 18 years old to open an account.  Marketing offers do not apply with a Second Chance Checking account.
